Jim Link is the founder of Idea-Link, Inc., a Minnesota-based company specializing in the generation, refinement and marketing of new ideas. Since 1994, Jim has worked with over 70 organizations ranging from larger companies like 3M, General Mills, Toro, Marriott, Heinz and Nestle to several smaller entrepreneurial ventures and start-ups. His 30 years of new product & marketing experience include work in over 160 different product and service categories across four continents.

Prior to starting Idea-Link, Jim spent seven years as a marketing manager at General Mills, leading new product efforts in the Snacks, Cereal and Meals divisions. Jim received his BA from Ohio Wesleyan University and his MBA in Marketing from Michigan State University.

In addition to his consulting, Jim is the author of the award-winning book, Idea-Links: The New Creativity, named “one of 2012’s groundbreaking business books” by Independent Publisher Magazine. Jim also presents a variety of keynote speeches and training workshops in the areas of creativity, innovation, positioning and new products.

Jim served as adjunct marketing professor at the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Business from 1994 to 2000, where he met and mentored MBA student and future I-Fred founder, Kathryn Goetzke.
